ABOUT

M.Sc. and PhD Program in Animal Health and Production Science

OBJECTIVES

The main purpose of the Program is to promote the development of the individual abilities of students in order to get a high academic level which when they graduate, will enable them to actively participate in the development and progress of society.

The Program has been designed and set in order to promote a strong academic, scientific environment so that students, in agreement with their field of interest, will be able to develop all necessary values and the acquisition of deep, up to date information to actively and creatively participate in the development and application of cutting-edge knowledge. It is a Program which enables students to improve their abilities in relation to self-management, globalized communication and knowledge transmission.

In accordance with the General Regulations for Postgraduate Studies (RGEP), several UNAM and public academic entities have joined efforts in order to optimize human, physical and economic resources as well as to improve the capacity to provide a high quality service and territorial coverage. Through this, it has been possible to pay attention to problems, needs and development of opportunities that arise from complex situations where multiple biotic and abiotic factors must be taken into account and dealt with in a multidisciplinary way.

Therefore, the curricular design has been flexible enough to cope with all academic needs and interests of students, taking care of the discipline and rigor standard goals to be met in both, the Curricular and the general, Postgraduate Study Programs at the UNAM.

The different management and operational Collegiate Scholar groups have been of key importance to accomplish the goals of the Program. Therefore, particular attention has been paid to the Tutorial Committees in terms of their purpose and duties. Those committees, altogether with the students, define the curricular particularities of each project as well as the appropriate guidance of each student throughout their Postgraduate Studies.
